kultura

Editorial Design, 2024

When I started KULTURA, I wanted to do more than just showcase beautiful photos of street art from around the globe. I wanted to create a book that could teach, engage, and connect with the audience. By organizing the images into six street art categories—tags, slaps, graffiti, murals, stencils, and 3D—I could guide the viewers through the variety of street art styles while giving each its own moment to shine.

“It’s a book meant to be explored slowly, finding something new with every page turn.”

My favorite feature is the integration of QR codes alongside select artworks. By scanning the QR code, viewers can see the location where the artwork lives in the world through Google Maps Street View. This feature bridges the gap between print and digital media, letting someone in their living room virtually stand in front of a mural halfway across the globe.

This book inspires viewers to seek out these walls in person and hopefully encourage others to pay more attention to the beauty of walking the simple streets. It’s time to pause the digital scrolling and see the stories and colors painted on our streets.
